30th Annual Day of Caring Brings Nearly 300 Volunteers to 28 Sites Across Johnson County
On September 15, United Way of Johnson County hosted its 30th annual Day of Caring, sending nearly 300 volunteers out to 28 work sites across the county in a single coordinated day of service. Teams from local businesses spent the day painting, landscaping, organizing, and repairing facilities alongside our local nonprofit partners. By day's end, the teams had completed dozens of projects for agencies that spend every day serving others - work that will help improve the lives of hundreds of Johnson County residents in the months ahead.
The day kicked off with a breakfast at Scott Hall on the Johnson County Fairgrounds, made possible through the continued generosity of presenting sponsor Cummins Inc. and a strong lineup of area business sponsors.
Thirty years in, Day of Caring remains one of the clearest expressions of what this community is capable of when it decides to show up for itself. It is a reminder that the strength of Johnson County has never been measured only in dollars raised, but in hours given, hands offered, and neighbors helped by name. Several Aspire member businesses were among the teams on the ground this year, and we're grateful for their part in it.
