Franciscan Health Faith Community Nurse Program Hosting Seminar on Palliative Care

The Franciscan Health Faith Community Nurse Program will be hosting a seminar entitled: Palliative Care: Enhancing Comfort, Dignity and Quality of Life on Tuesday, May 12 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Tabernacle Christian Church in Franklin, Ind.

The program will explore how palliative care is a partnership between medical expertise and heartfelt support, helping people live fully even in the face of serious illness.

Topics covered during the seminar include understanding the difference between palliative and hospice care as well as learning about how medical directives are used in decision making for someone.

In addition, practical ways faith and spirituality support whole-person wellness through the aging process, will be explored.

This seminar is the first in a series of programs presented by the Franciscan Health Community Nurse Program focusing on important health topics.
