Franklin College Appoints New Sports Information Director

Franklin College has announced the appointment of Ryan O’Leary as its new sports information director.
A 1996 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, O’Leary brings a wealth of experience to the position.
He most recently served a nine-year stint as the sports editor at the Daily Journal in Franklin, a role that included coverage of the Grizzlies.
“We’re excited to have Ryan join us as our sports information director,” noted Lance Marshall, athletic director and head baseball coach. “Ryan brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to showcasing the stories of our student-athletes and teams. We look forward to the energy and expertise he’ll bring to Franklin College athletics.”
O'Leary got his start in the late 1990s as the sports editor for the Berkshire Record in Massachusetts. He continued his career in and around Boston and Chicago, then returned to Indiana to work at Blue & Gold Illustrated and the Lafayette Journal & Courier before coming to Franklin. He has also worked in the sports information offices at both Notre Dame and Boston College.
“My family and I have called Johnson County our home for the past decade,” O'Leary said, “and I'm excited to continue that adventure here at Franklin College. I've enjoyed working with everyone I've met in this athletic department during my time with the Daily Journal, and I look forward to joining their team.”
O'Leary, who resides in Bargersville with his wife Lindsay and their two sons, Braylon and Landon, began at the college on June 27.
