Franklin College Welcomes Students from Across the Country for Ben Franklin Scholars Day

Franklin College welcomed an impressive group of potential Grizzlies to campus for its annual Ben Franklin Scholars Day in December, bringing together high-achieving students from Indiana and six additional states — some traveling from as far away as Texas - to compete for the College’s most prestigious scholarships.
This year’s event drew 133 exceptional participants, each demonstrating academic strength and resilience. More than $3.8 million in scholarships were awarded as a result of the one-day competition.
“We were thrilled by both the turnout and the remarkable talent of this year’s Scholars Day participants,” said Andrew Hendricks, MBA, vice president for enrollment and marketing. “These students represent some of the brightest scholars from across the region and beyond. Their performance throughout the day reaffirmed that Franklin College is an environment where they can truly thrive. It was also the largest amount of scholarship funding we have ever awarded in a single day, and every attendee left with a renewable award.”
To qualify for the event, students must have been admitted to the College and hold a minimum 3.9 GPA on a 4.0 scale at the time of admission.
Throughout the day, students completed an interview with faculty or staff, wrote a short-answer essay, and worked collaboratively on a group project. Scores from each portion were combined to determine an exact scholarship offer for each student. Within two weeks, all participants received their Ben Franklin Scholarship award, which is added to any existing merit scholarship previously granted.
A second Ben Franklin Scholars Day will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2026, for students unable to attend in December. Scholarships will range up to full tuition, and eligible seniors may still apply to participate in this distinguished competition.
High school seniors can still apply for the opportunity to compete for these coveted awards.
