Leadership Johnson County Opens Applications for BOLD Academy for Middle School Students
Leadership Johnson County is excited to announce the launch of BOLD Academy: Building Smart, Strong and BOLD Leaders, a new leadership academy designed for incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. The week-long summer academy will be offered in June 2026 at Endress+Hauser in Greenwood.
BOLD Academy is designed to help students develop essential leadership skills at a critical stage of growth. Throughout the academy, participants will engage in interactive activities focused on communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and decision-making, while being encouraged to step outside their comfort zones in a supportive and engaging environment. The academy also emphasizes citizenship, guiding students to explore what it means to be an engaged and responsible member of their community. As part of Leadership Johnson County’s collaboration with Endress+Hauser, each session of BOLD Academy will include a STEM-based activity, giving students hands-on exposure to innovation, technology, and critical thinking.
Students may register for one of two sessions:
- Week 1: June 8–12, 2026
- Week 2: June 15–19, 2026
Seating is limited, and spots are expected to fill quickly. Registration is now open, with a cost of $295 per student. BOLD Academy is proudly sponsored by Duke Energy and Baird – The 3C Group, whose support helps make leadership development opportunities available to Johnson County youth.
