Meet Your Ambassador: Brian Culp, Morgan Insurance Group

  1. When did you become an Ambassador?

    January 2025

  2. How has being an Ambassador been beneficial to you and/or your company?

My business is dependent on building and nurturing relationships, but that can be hard to do when owners are constantly being “sold” and marketed to in so many ways. This role gives me a chance to be in front of people without the pressure of sales so I can really get to know their business and gain trust.

  3. Why did you want to become an Ambassador?

Being an Ambassador helps me be more engaged with Aspire’s members and the Johnson County community.

  4. Do you have a favorite memory as an Ambassador?

The pickleball tournament was a great day. I had spent time getting to know Clint Weber at Advanced Background Services and sent him several referrals. He has been a great help to several of my clients. The tournament gave me a chance to meet more of his team and interact outside of a strictly business environment.

  5. What advice do you have for professionals trying to connect with other professionals?

Always go to your local chamber of commerce.

  6. What is your favorite networking tip?

Following up is key. You can have a great conversation at a networking event, but nothing will come of that if you don’t meet outside of the event. I collect cards from everyone I meet and send email invitations for coffee or lunch within a week of the initial event.

  7. What was your first job?

Working for my dad on the pig farm. I cleaned a lot of hog pens as a child and teen. My first job outside of that was delivering doughnuts to convenience stores from midnight until about 5 a.m.

  8. Do you have any hobbies or something you like to do outside the business setting?

I have always enjoyed photography. I photographed weddings for about ten years. Now, I just take photos for fun and to document my children’s activities.

  9. What is your favorite vacation and why?

We went to Madeira, Fla. for my older daughter’s senior year spring break. A lot of her friends had younger siblings who are friends with my younger daughter. It was great to have a community of people together on the same beach so we felt comfortable letting them have fun without worrying about them.

  10. What makes you a raving fan of Aspire?

Aspire has great programming and networking events. They are organized and well run. I have never come away from a meeting without meeting at least 10 people.
