By Aspire Economic Development + Chamber Alliance | | 7.26.23

Meet Aspire Ambassador J.C. Wogomon with Catalyst Insurance Group. J.C. has been an ambassador for 2 years. Here are some things to know about J.C.:

  1. As an ambassador of 2 years, how has it been beneficial to you and your business?

I feel that I’ve been able to help be a part of a vibrant business community and a rising tide raising all boats. More than anything, I’ve been able to make a lot of new friends.

  2. Can you remember a favorite moment during your time as an ambassador that sticks with you?

Not specifically, but I remember when I first joined Aspire and the role the ambassador I met with had on me. I think that’s why I was so passionate about becoming an ambassador and hopefully encouraging others to get actively involved.

  3. What advice do you have for professionals trying to connect with other professionals?

Simply make a new friend. Don’t over complicate this. People do business with people they know, like, and trust. So just simply make a new friend. You never know how you might be able to help each other directly or indirectly. Seek to serve before asking to be served.

  4. Do you have any good networking tricks or habits that have worked for you when you are networking?

Going along with what I mentioned above, don’t try and do business at a networking. Seek to understand before trying to be understood. Make a connection and then schedule a one-on-one time with the sole intent of learning their story and sharing yours. We all have a story and it’s in the sharing of that story that people will want to do business with you.

  5. What is your favorite color?

    Orange

  6. Tell us something you love to do as a hobby or a favorite vacation spot.

My hobbies are being outside camping, hiking, and mountain biking. I also love to snowboard. I guess you could say I love extreme sports, I just don’t do them extremely. My favorite vacation spot would definitely be Key West.

  7. What is your favorite thing about Aspire?

The people and the lack of cliques and egos. A lot of chamber type organizations I have been a part of in the past weren’t the most welcoming or inviting. Aspire has been the exact opposite of this and it’s all because of the people.

Thank you so much, J.C., for caring for your fellow members and their development with Aspire!
