From the Back of a Car to the Heart of Fishers

Dave Braden, Founder of Braden Business Systems, didn’t wait for perfect conditions to start his business. On May 5, 1989, with a phone, a shared office space, and no desk, he began selling fax machines out of the back of his car. It was just him—no team, no safety net—learning as he went and servicing the machines he sold. What he lacked in infrastructure, he made up for in follow-through and grit.
That early groundwork shaped the company’s identity. Clients quickly saw that Dave did more than talk about service. He showed up, he solved problems, and he stood behind his word. Over time, that approach built a loyal client base and a reputation that reached beyond Indianapolis.
Fast forward three decades, Braden Business Systems has outgrown five locations, established headquarters in downtown Fishers, and opened offices in Chicago. The company now offers managed IT services in addition to business technology, but its roots haven’t changed.
Success wasn’t sudden, and it didn’t come easy. It came from working late, staying accountable, and putting customers first, values still visible in how the company operates today.
Dave once said, “A lot of people make promises, but how many people follow through?” That mindset still drives the team, even as the tools and tech evolve.
