More than 1 million Indiana residents are considered food insecure, an estimated 13% more than this time last year. Across Johnson and Marion counties, that number is more than 160,000 neighbors facing hunger and food insecurity. May 28 is World Hunger Day, a day to raise awareness of the challenges facing so many around the world as it relates to malnutrition, hunger, and food insecurity.

At Pack Away Hunger, our singular focus is to alleviate hunger in Indiana and around the world. We partner with businesses, faith communities, civic groups, and schools to pack highly nutritious, cost-effective Nutriplenty meals, a soy and rice-based meal designed to address malnutrition and vitamin deficiency. As the need continues to rise, our efforts continue to be needed more than ever. In 2025, our goal is to pack and distribute 3 million meals! We can’t do that without the help of our volunteers and partners.

This summer, Pack Away Hunger is honoring a number of key milestones - namely, celebrating our 15-year anniversary and packing and distributing our 25,000,000th meal! We are hosting a number of opportunities for folks to get engaged, volunteer, and give back this summer.
