Selective Seconds Consignment/Resale Announces New Owner

By Selective Seconds Consignment | | 3.25.24

After 27+ years of ownership of Selective Seconds Consignment, owner Vena Holden announced her retirement as of February 13. New owner, Lance Young, is local to the Greenwood/Center Grove area. He has studied several small business opportunities before landing on this “resale” industry. Lance said, “I have read so many articles on resale, and I couldn’t find anything negative. The projections of this industry are excellent.”

Previous owner, Vena Holden, purchased the 2-acre property at 1000 N State Road 135 in 2019. Selective Seconds was one of few businesses that grew sales during Covid by adding live shows on Facebook. The company (22 employees) also owns Selective Closeouts, selling returns/overstocks from the TV shopping channel QVC through live shows on Facebook.

Lance said, “It’s obvious the customers and suppliers have given so much support and trust to the business Vena and her team created. I look forward to offering the best customer service possible. We will continue to give suppliers three options for selling their items (1-cash on the spot, 2-credit to make future purchases, and 3-consignment where suppliers can earn 40-70% after their items sell).”

Lance is not new to small business as he and his father own a real estate appraisal company. He and his wife Shelby, and their 3 young children, live in Center Grove.
