The Town of Bargersville has hired Alex Koenig as the new Director of Planning and Zoning, following an extensive and highly selective search process.

Koenig brings more than two decades of planning and community development experience to the role, with a strong background in municipal planning, zoning administration, and development strategies.

Of particular note is Koenig’s previous experience in Indiana, where he served as City Planner for the City of Lebanon. In that role, he led planning and zoning initiatives, worked closely with local stakeholders, and supported responsible growth and development, experience that aligns well with Bargersville’s continued growth and vision for the future.

“After a thorough and thoughtful search, we are confident that Alex is the right fit for Bargersville,” said Dax Norton Town Manager.

Throughout his career, Koenig has led zoning code updates, managed development review processes, and worked collaboratively with elected officials, planning commissions, and residents. He has worked in a variety of communities, giving him a strong understanding of how to support growth while maintaining what makes each place unique.

“The Town is excited to add someone with Alex's depth of experience, leadership in planning, and understanding of community-focused development, he will be a tremendous asset as our town continues to grow,” said Andrew Greenwood, Town Council President.

As Director of Planning and Zoning, Koenig will lead development review, planning efforts, and zoning processes, helping guide the Town’s continued growth in a way that fits Bargersville’s character.

Koenig’s first day with the Town will be April 27, 2026.
